Where We Work
PARM Horizon 2 currently focuses on sub-Saharan Africa and is looking to expand its scope within and beyond the region.
Our geographical scope
The first group of target countries of PARM Horizon 2 are: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Niger and Senegal. A second group of countries will be selected during the course of the programme.
During its first phase (2013-2019) PARM process was active in Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Liberia, Niger, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia. Throughout these countries, PARM engaged with a wide range of stakeholders to assess and prioritise agricultural risk, develop ARM tools, strengthen capacity to manage risk and reinforce partnership for ARM tools investment.
The main criteria for selecting target countries are based on:
1. the presence of agricultural risks and the need/demand to integrate the holistic approach to ARM;
2. official commitment from the government and strategic partners;
3. the presence of (or interest to develop) policies, programs and strategies on ARM
