Agriculture Risk Management in Developing Countries: a learning course for practitioners

Abstract

This material explains the key concepts for assessing, analyzing and prioritizing risks. Specifically, it includes various methods – both qualitative and quantitative – for assessing risks at micro, meso and macro levels. It is developed specifically for PARM CD2 level training – but it can also be adapted to support similar pieces of training at the country level.

PARM’s CD2 is an interactive 5-day course that targets extension workers, university students, public and private officers, and officials with higher educational background. It aims to provide advanced agricultural risk management (ARM) knowledge to create a pool of local ARM experts to timely advice and train farmers on managing agricultural risks.
